Technology Partnership Helps Retailers Reduce Shrink, Enhance Operational Efficiency and Improve Customer Experience
Cambridge, MA, April 16, 2007 -- IntelliVid, a leading provider of intelligent video applications for retail loss prevention and store intelligence, today announced its intention to support Verint Systems Inc.'s Nextiva™ encoders.
By integrating IntelliVid's Video Investigator video intelligence application with Verint's Nextiva encoders, retail customers will have more choice to leverage IntelliVid's high-level analytic applications with Verint's market leading video management and analytic solution platform. As a result, the technology partnership will help retailers reduce shrink, enhance operational efficiency and improve the customer experience.
The announcement comes at a time of rapid growth in the IP video surveillance market. For example, Frost and Sullivan predicts that the IP video surveillance market will grow at a compounded annual growth rate of 47% to $2.1 billion in 2009. Even more remarkably, IMS Research predicts that the video analytics market will grow at a 65.5% compounded annual growth rate to $839 million in 2009.
Verint's Nextiva Retail is a next-generation video management and analytics platform for the retail industry. Its standards-based, open architecture enables easy integration with existing security and IT infrastructure to capture video, audio and data from a wide variety of devices within a store's main shopping areas, checkout lines, loading docks and exterior.
IntelliVid's Video Investigator product line is an open platform, video intelligence application designed exclusively for the retail industry, providing unprecedented capabilities for tracking people, monitoring assets and automating store intelligence alerts and notifications. Video Investigator enables retailers to derive greater real-time intelligence and value from their surveillance systems to reduce theft and optimize store operations.
IntelliVid is committing technology resources to develop IntelliVid Video Investigator solutions that allow customers to incorporate advanced high-level analytics from IntelliVid into their Verint Nextiva Retail environments. The first milestone of integration will be accomplished through Video Investigator's support of Verint's Nextiva encoders.
"We are pleased to partner with Verint to bring the benefits of our combined offerings to this rapidly expanding market," said Patrick Sobalvarro, CEO of IntelliVid. "This technology partnership will further enable our customers to take a proactive approach to shrinkage, obtain important visibility for improved store intelligence and realize increased profitability."
"As a leading provider of networked video solutions for the retail market, Verint is committed to expanding its partnerships with manufacturers of complementary technologies like IntelliVid," said Kevin Searight, vice president of Retail Sales for Verint Video Intelligence Solutions. "Our open standards-based Nextiva Retail platform provides seamless integration with other business and security applications, enabling our customers to generate actionable intelligence to enhance the performance of their entire retail operation."
