IntelliVid Announces General Release of Video Investigator 1.1; Wireless Alerts Notify On-Floor Staff of Theft Events
Three Top Retail Chains: Department Store, Auto Parts, Discount Retail Using Latest Version of Intelligent Video Analysis Software

CHICAGO, IL May 22, 2006 - IntelliVid Corporation, the leader in intelligent video analysis software for retail loss prevention, today announced here at Retail Systems 2006 the latest release of its intelligent video analysis solution, Video Investigator Version 1.1.

Illustrating the high level of anticipated demand for this product, the company said that three major retailers have implemented and are using new features of Video Investigator -- including wireless Video Article Surveillance™ -- to significantly reduce shrink while improving customer service.

The three firms, all among the country's largest 100 retailers, include department store, auto parts and accessories and discount retail chains. They join several other major retailers across a variety of retail categories -- including big box, department store, warehouse club, drugstore and juvenile specialty chains -- that are already using Video Investigator to fight shrink in their stores.

Video Investigator transforms retailers' existing camera systems from static recording devices into active theft prevention solutions, enabling them to take a proactive role in preventing theft, rather than just recording it. The latest version of Video Investigator includes wireless capabilities that enable store employees to move out of the surveillance room and onto the selling floor where they can better assist customers as well as observe suspicious behavior and take action as needed. Store employees can now receive automated alerts to mobile handheld devices when selected merchandise is removed.

Version 1.1 also includes the following enhancements:

* Support for a larger number of cameras typically associated with big box environments
* Enhanced alert functionality for notifying store employees of a variety of situations
* Improved camera management capabilities
* Support for a broader range of hardware options
* Improved user interface for more effective loss prevention operations

IntelliVid is demonstrating Video Investigator in the "Innovation Alley" at Retail Systems 2006 in McCormick Place.

"We are excited that three of the country's largest and most well-respected retail chains have turned to IntelliVid for solutions to help them fight shrink," said Patrick Sobalvarro, president and CEO of IntelliVid. "With our wireless capabilities, enhanced alerts and other enhancements in Version 1.1, retailers can increase their levels of service while more effectively taking a chunk out of some of the $25+ billion of theft taking place in stores each year."

Video Investigator 1.1 is available immediately, directly from IntelliVid.
